14" Wenge and Zebrawood Shoji Lamp with Golden Dragon Lokta Paper
The primary wood, Wenge, is medium brown, sometimes with a reddish or yellowish hue, with nearly black streaks. The accent wood, Zebra, is a bright orange or almost crimson wood when freshly cut, but oxidizes to a darker, rich purple-brown over time. The Golden Dragon Lokta Paper is handmade in Nepal from lokta bushes. It is an eco-friendly resource and reliable revenue stream for village artisans of Nepal. The dragon, long acknowledged as a symbol of supernatural powers in Chinese folklore and art, is associated with water, wisdom, and longevity. In some cultures, dragons are believed to possess the ability to grant wishes and speak in human languages.
